The average John Q. Public might well believe that Google is perfectly capable of immediately identifying piracy sites (although it’s virtually impossible).

What I find even more disturbing is the number of our legislators that have no idea what a given bill really contains when they cast their vote. The most dedicated will have an aide prepare a two paragraph brief of a 1,000 page bill, and make their decision based upon that. Any bias of the aide will convey, as will any lack of attention to detail.

In some instances, a committee might order a study, which probably won’t be fully read or comprehended either.

And we haven’t even yet reached the point of discussing the personal bias of the legislator when voting.

I tend to agree with the video in the fact that the problem was created by the lobbyists and now they are petitioning our governments to solve this problem that the created and promoted.

If anything it’d make me feel a hell of a lot better about Al Franken and it’d mean that after the hearing on the 18th many of the supporters and perhaps even sponsors will switch sides and SOPA could get tabled indefinitely.

Well, we’ll have to see what happens.
